Jie Zhang, Ph.D., Research Fellow
Dr. Jie Zhang holds a B.S. in Physics from Soochow University and a M.S. in Condensed Matter Physics from Soochow University. Then he received his Ph.D. in Condensed Matter Physics from Soochow University in 2014 for his thesis entitled "Charge Transport Properties of Organic/Inorganic Si Hybrid Solar Cells".
Jie has been honored for several celebration including People’s Individual Scholarship (2005, 2007, 2008), 2nd prize for scientific and technological achievements (2012), 3rd class scholarship (2012).
Now he is working on design and development of nanostructures and nanomaterials for energy related photonics research. Also graphene oxide super capacitor devices fabrication based on laser nanostructures pattern is his interesting research aspect.

Dan Yang, Ph.D., Research Fellow
Dan Yang got her bachelor degree from China University of Petroleum (Beijing) in 2008. After that, she was recommended to Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences for the master study. In 2011, she started her Ph.D study in the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Her research focus was mainly on the synthesis of nanomaterials and their application for energy storage devices. Since 2015, she worked in National University of Singapore as research associate. Her research interest was mainly on developing efficient photocatalyst to decompose organic pollutants in waste water.
Dan joined in the Centre for Micro-photonics in Swinburne University of Technology in October, 2017. Her current research is on developing graphene-based supercapacitors with high voltage and excellent capacitance.
Fei Meng, Ph.D., Research Fellow
Zhixing Gan, Ph.D., Research Fellow
Zhixing Gan received his Ph.D. degree from Nanjing University, China, in 2015.
His primary research interests focus on optoelectronic properties and applications of low dimensional semiconductors and novel nanomaterials.
Shibiao Wei, Ph.D, Research Fellow
Dr. Wei completed the Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in Optical Engineering at Nankai University (China) in 2009 and 2012. In 2015, he was awarded the degree of PhD at Institute of modern optics, Nankai University for his thesis entitled "Plasmonic field modulation and its application in the super-resolution imaging".
He was a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at Shenzhen University(China), RMIT University (Australia). His recent work on surface plasmon polaritons has led to a new dimension of the dynamic manipulation of surface waves for the next generation of photonic circuits. He has published widely in prestigious journals, such as Science Advances, Optics Letters, and Applied physics letters. Shibiao's current research interests lie in ultra-thin dynamic graphene oxide device design and its applications.
Weijian Chen, Ph.D., Research Fellow
Dr. Weijian Chen is currently a post-doctoral researcher under the supervision of Prof. Baohua Jia and Dr. Xiaoming Wen, on the project of photo-physics of novel energy harvesting/light emitting materials.
He was awarded Doctor of Philosophy in Photovoltaic Engineering at the University of New South Wales (UNSW Sydney), Australia in 2018, specializing in spectroscopic characterization of photovoltaic/light emitting materials and applications. During his PhD candidature, he also worked as a visiting scientist at Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light in 2016, funded by German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). He graduated with Bachelor of Engineering in Opto-Electronics (Elite Student Program at Honors School), Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), China in 2014.
